As shown on the page images at the right, various categories of medical information can be organized, stored and viewed for emergency purposes. Medical history, for example, can include family history along with any significant hospitalizations.
Prescription and Non-prescription drugs, including supplements can also be recorded, as well as doctors, specialists, and caregivers with addresses and emergency numbers. Any current medical treatments and advanced directives, such as DNR orders can be included for the record.
As an advantage, the medical records are viewed and updated by the Med Records to Gotm application in web page format using the Internet browser of your computer. There is no need to learn a new application. What is more important, though, is that emergency responders or hospital personnel do not need to install a special application on their computer to view your vital medical information. The application starts up automatically for viewing of medical data when the flash drive is plugged into their computer.
As an additional feature, the medical data can be placed on your cell phone if desired. Additionally, this information can be created in CDA format of the HL7 international standard for transmission by the Med Records to Gotm application to any medical facility or office in support of the standard.
The Import selection of the main menu of the Med Records to Gotm application provides the option to install supplementary document and image files into your personal medical records for quick and easy viewing in event of an emergency. Important documents and images may be obtained from the primary care physician or medical facility.
The documents that can be installed include Microsoft word and Excel documents, Adobe pdf documents, standard text files, Web or HTML files, and other standard computer readable files.
Also, the image files that can be installed include , in part, the following suffix types: "jpg, gif, png, tif, bmp." Any image file that can be viewed by using Microsoft Windows Picture Viewer is supported.
When included with your medical records, the files are organized and stored with a description of the individual file content. Moreover, when a given document or image file is selected for viewing, the Med Records to Gotm application automatically invokes the appropriate program provided by Microsoft operating system. Thus, emergency medical personal do not need to learn or locate an application in order to view a given imported file.
